First Time Visitor?

Sometimes it is difficult to go to a church for the first time.  You wonder what to expect, or what will the service be like.  We've put together a guide to help you on your visit.

What to expect:
You can enter the building through the north doors.  You will be greeted upon arrival by a member of the congregation whose duty it is that morning to greet everyone.  If you are a first time visitor, you are asked to sign our visitor book.
We have nursery attendants, so if you would like your child to remain in our nursery, mention it to the greeter and they will direct you.

The greeter will then show you to the sanctuary.  There will be an usher at the back of the sanctuary handing out the Worship Folders and hymnals.  You can follow along with the Order of Worship in the printed Worship Folder.  Hymns are often printed in this folder to supplement the hymns we sing from the hymnal.

Our worship mixes elements of traditional worship handed down to us for thousands of years with contemporary music and worship forms.  Sometimes the ancient parts of the liturgy have deeper meanings that are not immediately apparent.  Almost all of the words we use in worship come from the Bible.  If you would like to know more about the meaning of our worship we would be glad to discuss it with you.

During the Offering, we pass an offering plate so that our worship includes bringing gifts to God.  Please do not feel any obligation to participate in this offering.  Our offerings to God reflect our belief that all we have is a gift from Him.  You may feel you want to know more about our ministry before bringing your offerings to God through our church, so please do not feel obligated to participate.  This is a time in our service when congregation members give of the gifts God has given them to support the work of the congregation.   Of course, you are welcome to participate as your heart leads you to give.

The Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) is very special to Lutherans.  If communion is offered on the day you visit, please take a moment to read carefully the Worship Folder insert stating what we believe.  Those adult Christians who share the Lutheran understanding of this sacrament are welcome to share the Holy Supper with us. If you agree with the statement of what we believe, please sign it and hand it to the usher as you come forward to commune. If you have any questions, please speak to the Pastor.  Light-colored wine at the center of the tray is non-alcoholic for those who may be unable to tolerate alcohol.

We invite you to join us and hope that this helps make it a little easier for you to come and worship with us.
